About the Speakers:
Tamara serves as General Counsel for the Vegas Golden Knights after spending three years as counsel for related entities, Foley Family Wines and Epic Wines and Spirits. Her introduction to these affiliates began in 2013, when she held a position as Associate Counsel in the New York City legal department of Fidelity National Financial (another related company) for three years until relocating to California to join Foley Family Wines and Epic Wines and Spirits in January, 2016...and later to Nevada in July, 2017 to join the Golden Knights. Tamara provides a wide range of legal services including transactional and corporate work such as: drafting and negotiating sponsorship agreements; marketing agreements; licensing agreements; leasing; acquisition and disposition of equity and assets; financing; alcohol and beverage compliance; advertising compliance; NHL rule compliance; government affairs; managing the intellectual property portfolio; managing litigation; risk management and contributing to the health and growth of the business as a member of the executive team. In addition to the day-to-day, she spends time at speaking engagements, community events, volunteering, and of course, hockey games.
A the outset of her career she served the people of the State of New York as an Assistant District Attorney in Queens County before moving to big law and civil litigation -- roles that ultimately set her up for success as an in-house corporate lawyer.
Francesco Di Ianni
Francesco Di Ianni is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s TMT Practice based in Los Angeles, CA, and specializes in growth strategy and transformation. Mr. Di Ianni has over 15 years of experience in media and entertainment (OTT, TV, film, interactive and sport entertainment) and consulting.
Mr. Di Ianni specializes in driving growth strategy for intellectual property (“IP”) and sports-centric businesses across diverse verticals including film, TV, gaming, sports, OTT/D2C, site-based entertainment, entertainment services, consumer products and retail.
Mr. Di Ianni advises corporate and private equity clients on corporate strategy, new business development and monetization, digital transformation, international expansion and market entry, pricing/ promotion strategy, valuation, due diligence, commercial and operations improvement.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Di lanni was Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Deluxe Entertainment, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, growth and transformation initiatives.
John G. Loughnane is a partner in Nutter’s Corporate and Transactions Department. Business leaders rely on John’s broad experience and expansive problem-solving skills in two distinct sets of circumstances. First, clients entering into business, intellectual property and real estate transactions (such as financings, licensings, and acquisitions) rely on John at the outset to help structure and close durable deals. Clients benefit especially from John’s insight into distressed circumstances in anticipating issues and obtaining meaningful remedies in the event needed to ensure desired objectives are achieved. John serves as a leader in national organizations relevant to his practice including the American Bar Association (ABA) (Steering Committee Member, Legal Technology Resource Center), The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) (Co-Chair, Mediation Committee and former Co-Chair, Emerging Industries and Technology Committee), and the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) (Trustee, TMA Global and past President, Northeast Chapter). John is also an active member of the Boston Bar Association and past Co-Chair of its Bankruptcy Section. The impact of the accelerating pace of digital transformation on the important issues of privacy and security led him to earn the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Michael J. Wall is of counsel and a business lawyer for Foley & Lardner LLP where he is a part of the Transactional & Securities Practice and the Sports & Entertainment Group. Before joining Foley, Mr. Wall served for 22 years on executive management teams of sports-related businesses. From 2008 through 2017, Mr. Wall was executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for Performance Sports Group, Ltd.--the NYSE-listed publicly-held owner of the sports equipment and apparel companies BAUER hockey, EASTON baseball, and CASCADE/MAVERIK lacrosse. Before joining Performance Sports Group, Mr. Wall was the chief legal officer for the TD Garden, the Boston Bruins, and the concessionaires for the TD Garden, the Xfinity Center and Boston University's Agganis Arena. Serving in this role from 1995 through 2008, Mr. Wall counseled the executive management team of each entity on all legal aspects of their operations and business relationships.
Mr. Wall currently serves as President and Board Chair of USA Team Handball, which is the U.S. National Governing Body for the Olympic discipline of Team Handball and is responsible for the development of grassroots programs, preparation of national teams for international competition, including the Pan American and Olympic Games - as well as the day-to-day oversight of the sport of team handball in the United States.
Peter Wilt is one of the most respected and well-known executives in American soccer. Emphasizing community building and fan engagement models, he has launched more professional soccer teams than anyone else in history. Among his seven start-ups are successful first division teams Chicago Fire (MLS) and Chicago Red Stars (NWSL). He has also launched and operated several lower division teams including USL Championship’s Indy Eleven and USL League One’s Forward Madison.
He has earned record business growth as well as six championship rings while leading teams in six professional American soccer leagues. In more than four decades in the sports industry, Peter has served in every front office capacity, been honored with top executive and organization awards in MLS, NASL and USL.
Peter is a member of four Halls of Fame including the Illinois Soccer Hall of Fame and the Chicago Fire’s Ring of Fire. Through the XI Academy soccer management program, he is now passing his unequalled experience, knowledge, and network on to a new generation of soccer management leadership.
